Who It Is For,
and How It Runs

All three programmes share the same academic approach; what separates them is who they were designed for and the format they run in.

A1 – C2Oxford & Cambridge

General English

The core programme, where all four skills grow together

The programme never treats grammar as an end in itself. Vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking all move forward together, and none is allowed to outrun the others. Spiral learning is the backbone of this: a structure you met earlier comes back at later levels in a different context, each time in a slightly more demanding use. What you learn stays in use rather than in memory.

What the programme includes, in detail

  • 01

Seven levels from A1 to C2 (including B1+)

Our levels follow the international benchmarks that describe language ability step by step. A written and spoken placement test before you start establishes where you are, and what you gain by the end of each course is defined against the same benchmark. Progress rests on a concrete framework rather than on an impression that things are “going well”.

  • 02

Oxford for the core coursebook, Cambridge for grammar

Two publishers are used together, deliberately. The Oxford series provides the backbone that moves all four skills forward at once, while Cambridge’s grammar resources take the same topic further on the structural side. You meet a point in use first, then consolidate the rule in a separate resource.

  • 03

    NYLA academy notes, written in-house

Alongside the books, our teachers use notes built around the difficulties they see most often in class. Structures that Turkish speakers typically get stuck on in English, common translation errors and fixed expressions are all covered separately in these notes.

  • 04

All materials provided by the academy

The coursebook, workbook, academy notes and exam materials are included in the course fee. You will not be asked to buy books or pay extra for materials after you enrol.

  • 05

A NYLA certificate and the right to move up a level

In-class assessment and the end-of-course exam follow the Oxford exam system. Students who complete the course successfully receive a NYLA certificate documenting the programme, and may continue from the next level up if they wish.

One-to-oneGroup

One-to-One and Group Lessons

The same content, in the format that suits you

In a one-to-one lesson the pace is entirely yours: you slow down where a topic is hard and speed up where it is not. In a group lesson, speaking practice with students at your level comes naturally. Whichever you choose, the course runs entirely online — you can join from anywhere with an internet connection and fit the schedule around your day and your work. At B2, C1 and C2 you can take lessons with native English-speaking teachers.

What the programme includes, in detail

  • 01

One-to-one: a plan built only around you

Lesson times, pace and content are set by what you need and nothing else. You can stay longer on a topic you find hard and move quickly through one you already know. For students whose workload shifts, or who have a fixed date to meet, this is the most flexible option.

  • 02

Group lessons: practice together, speaking that feels natural

Working with students at your level creates something a one-to-one lesson cannot: an environment for speaking and listening. Dialogue, discussion and group activities give you the practice closest to how the language is really used.

  • 03

The same teacher throughout a level

Changing teacher means losing everything the teacher has learned about where you struggle. You work with the same teacher through a whole course, so revision and consolidation are planned around your strengths and weaknesses.

  • 04

    Native-speaker teachers at B2, C1 and C2

At advanced levels you can take lessons with American, British and Irish teachers who are native speakers. Exposure to different accents and cultural contexts is the single most effective way to develop natural usage at these levels.

  • 05

Join from anywhere with an internet connection

Lessons are held online, and you can follow the same programme from Türkiye or from abroad. Moving city or travelling does not interrupt your course.

Children's syllabusPlacement test

English for Children

A syllabus written for their age, with one teacher throughout

Children learn differently from adults, so the programme is different too. A written and spoken placement test before the course begins means your child starts neither below what they already know nor above what they are ready for. Keeping the same teacher for a whole level is a deliberate choice: there is no repeated settling-in period, and the teacher moves forward knowing how the child learns.

What the programme includes, in detail

  • 01

    A syllabus written for children

Not a simplified version of the adult programme but a separate syllabus. Activities, game-based repetition and visual materials are built around the attention span, learning style and interests of the age group.

  • 02

A written and spoken placement test before the course

Your child's current level is measured both in writing and in speech before the course starts, so they are placed neither in a group beyond them nor at a level that only repeats what they know.

  • 03

The same teacher throughout a level

For children, the trust built with a teacher affects how quickly they learn. The teacher does not change during a course; the child progresses with the same person, in a consistent routine.

  • 04

    One-to-one or group format

A shy child can begin one-to-one, while a child who thrives alongside peers can join a group. The format is decided after the placement test, with the parent's view taken into account.

  • 05

A NYLA certificate at the end of each course

Every child who completes a course successfully receives a certificate. Seeing a concrete result is a powerful motivator at this age.

Where You Are Now,
and Where You Are Going

Levels run from A1 to C2 in seven steps; because the jump from B1 to B2 is the widest, a B1+ consolidation step sits between them. What you should be able to do at each level is clear from the start.

7 levelsRegular assessment

Everyday basics; introducing yourself
