IELTS and TOEFL Preparation
International proficiency exams
These are the two exams asked for when you study abroad or make international applications. Both test the same four skills, but their question types, time pressure and scoring logic differ — and preparation is built on those differences. You work with teachers who specialise in these exams and track your progress through assessment that follows the Oxford exam system. You choose one-to-one or group format according to your goal.
What the programme includes, in detail
- 01
Teachers who specialise in the exam
IELTS and TOEFL have their own question logic, scoring criteria and time pressure; knowing English well is not enough by itself. The teachers on these programmes are drawn from staff who know the format and marking criteria inside out and who prepare students for the same exam regularly.
- 02
All four skills practised in exam conditions
Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking are not practised in isolation but with the weighting and the real timings of the exam. Task types in Writing and the section structure in Speaking become familiar, so nothing about the format surprises you on the day.
- 03
Assessment through the Oxford exam system
As in all our programmes, in-class assessment follows the Oxford exam system. Your progress during preparation is therefore tracked against a benchmark that is independent of your target exam but consistent with it.
- 04
One-to-one or group format
One-to-one suits students working to a fixed date or struggling with a single section; group format suits those who benefit from Speaking practice and feedback from others.
- 05
All course materials included
Exam-specific resources, practice test sets and academy notes are included in the course fee. You will not need to buy books or practice packs separately.
